DIY Cards for Mother’s Day (or any occasion really…)

You know what’s coming up in under 2 weeks? The day that celebrates all the great women in our lives – moms, aunts, sisters, grandmothers and great grandmothers. To all the women who step up and step in when you needed them, whether or not they gave birth to you, adopted you or just were there for you when you needed them growing up. So the very least you can do is tell them how much you care about them.

I always seem to choose the cloudiest rainiest days to make anything so the process shots look like there was a thunderstorm outside (there was a thunderstorm outside). But hopefully they’ll give you an idea of how I put them together. I tend to make cards on the whim so I don’t really know the next one til I envision it while I am making them, so feel free to use the end product as your inspiration for your own.

What you’ll need

One really big tip I suggest to everyone who makes cards is to lay out the shapes you cut out BEFORE you glue them on. That way you can get an idea of where you want your placement to be.

With this sunshine below, I laid it all out, then glued it all on and trimmed the excess around the card stock afterwards. Mod Podge dries very fast and clear. I am a big fan of it for all my paper crafts.

And here are this years cards. Which really can be used for holidays outside of Mother’s Day and Thank You Cards and so forth.

Happy Crafting!
