It’s mid-September and I am already knee deep in Halloween costume making. This is my favourite season. I live for Fall. I love everything about Fall. That includes the colder weather. Sweater weather is better weather. Yes I am that person.
Because I spent way too much time in the felt section of Michael’s this past week, I decided to make a nice Fall wreath to hang on our front door. I am halfway done making our Christmas wreath. Don’t judge me.
And you too can make one and it will cost you almost nothing. Well about $10 for supplies (if you don’t have a glue gun).
What you’ll need:
- Felt sheets (approximately 4 sheets of 4 different colors of your choice)
- Glue Gun
- Embroidery Hoop
- Sharp fabric Scissors
Step 1
Cut out some felt leaves. You do not need a fancy template. Just cut them. It’s ok if they’re a little different because no 2 leaves are the same.
A single sheet of felt, folded in half should get you about 8 to 10 leaves.
Keep cutting your leaves.
Step 2
Get your embroidery hoop and begin to glue your leaves as shown below.
Then glue the remaining leaves like this, to fill in the wood gaps on your embroidery hoop.
Keep adding and adding until you’re happy with the fullness and fluffiness of the wreath.
I started off with a pattern but about halfway through it became a free for all. Just go with it.
And you’re done!
